Legend has it that Costa Rican magic mushrooms were found in the foothills surrounding Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. Someone only known as Hero took a little mushroom-hunting journey around the volcano and came back with some spore prints.Apparently, Hero found the mushrooms growing not at sea level but at an elevation of 1000-1200 feet (304 – 365 meters). That means that Hero definitely had to put in the leg work just to find these beauties.We’re glad he did because now Costa Rican magic mushrooms have become some of the most renowned shrooms worldwide.
